I've just sown some mixed lettuce seeds kindly donated from zazan999, much appreciated I've not sown them all just a few in a couple of pots, i want to really use them successionally, i've never done this before. Also i've just tried this watering from below techinque, i'm really amazed how well it works.

    What about yourself?

sowed a few tomatoes, sweet pepper, aubergine and jalapenos - it's just so cold and wet, I've been putting off planting things but really feel like I've got to get going.

Supposed to be planting my Early Maincrop spuds today in big containers. But I just went to the garden centre & they're shutting down So no compost, because they haven't ordered any. Could go somewhere else for it, but it's getting late, cold, & I'm fed up! So 'twil have to be tomorrow.

Just planted out a bag of onion sets into plugs that will go onto the lottie in a few weeks; and some onion seeds and beetroot [donated by Hay Wayne] into homemade paper pots. Repotted on 5 mega speedy courgettes that were only sown 11 days ago.

Hi Hawthorns, I know you are down the road from me - I've recently been sowing carrots, lettuce and have only just got round to planting my early Charlotte spuds.
In the greenhouse I've sown french beans, pumpkins and squash, although the squash are showing no signs of growing!

            What about you?

Just potted sweetcorn seeds, runnerbeans, tomatoes, peppers, chillis and parsnips and put them on the dinningroom windowsill which is south facing. ( greenhouse not built yet)
Moved peas, broadbeans, cabbage and some other pea seedlings to landing window which is north facing. Should really have dug the garden but the wind was too cold.

                  Hi Hawthorns

Well today was the day that I planted something in my veg plot, for the first time in my Life (they say it begins at 40!!!).

Planted out some onion sets, garlic, radishes and beetroot (did this in seeds as got some in the greenhouse, but thought nothing ventured!)

Dug my patch for the runners which are in the greenhouse, coming along lovely and got this warming up for a couple of weeks before planting out.

I have fleeced over the veg plot and netted over my strawberries (in pots), i feel a sense of achievement & pride today, just now need to find a space for my sweetcorn!!

Raised beds: Parsnip, carrots, cabbage, turnips, broadbeans, beeetroot, onions, spinach.

Propogator: dwarf french beans, runnerbeans, cucumber, melon.

Potatoes out in a grow bag sack thingy.

It was a beautiful day here to day, sun was shining and we were out in the garden by 8.15. Took the riddle to two of my raised beds and planted out my red and white onion sets and 7 containers of spuds. Finished building our patio, demolished an old brick barbecue, burnt some rubbish, lopped back some ivy, put new edging around the lawns.

Steve attacked the w clips for the new greenhouse - pleased to report that he won the good fight, with a little direction from his Dad who came down for a visit. Came in at 8pm, exhausted but happy. Going to have a bath and soak my aching muscles with a glass of wine.
