  • Well the label said Melon

Brought a melon plant in a garden centre and it has been growing ever since, we have 3 melons and tonight one fell off.

So brought it home, have been waiting for the melon smell to tell if its ripe, but nothing so we decided to cut it open and have a look!!

So I now don't think its a melon but a squash, my partner is gutted as he was so proud of his melon's

Any ideas as to what variety

Sorry, no idea of the variety but I had exactly the same thing a couple of years ago. The seed packet said melon but it grew to be something like yours. Embarrassing thing is that I gave a couple of "melon" plants away to friends

reminds me of my lime tree....been looking after it for three years and its turned out to be a sour orange...little oranges ..might be able to make marmalade possibly! Was so looking forward to limes.
Has it whats the word, you know mated with a squash? What do I mean ...fertilised...cross fertilised?

              Disappointing, but

I would still be glad as at least you got great pumpkins, as for result with melons more likely would have been less successful.

It may not be a melon, but it is rather beautiful treepixie and what a bonus if it tastes nice
