Does anyone have any of these to sell that are spare, I have bought my potatoes from BQ and have a load on order from our allotment shop but just wanted to try some of these and if I like will order these next year.

Sorry, is that all it cost to get those potatoes for free coz I was thinking you have to buy other things too from the order? I just thought it was too good to be true.

Thanks Shirl, I didn't follow the thread right through as I thought it was mostly to do with eBay potatoes. I'm sure as hell going for it although I wonder who's paying for it, DT Brown or the potato developer etc or it's just a lost leader marketing effort.

I ain't questioning it - a different type of spud to try for that price is just too good to miss. And if they don't turn up it won't break the bank!

I grew Vales Emerald last year as i'd tasted them at an Organic meeting i went to at HDRA and they were delicious. My crops weren't anything to write home about sadly, the yield was average and while they tasted fine i wasn't astounded by them. It may just have been the way i grew them/my soil/they didn't like me! i would be interested to hear how others get on this year.

Protea
I grew them last year and as you say the yield wasn't fantastic but the taste was really good, I just bought some Vales Soveriegn (main crop)from t***o's and they taste very nice also so I will try a few supermarket seed potato's

Pity about the generally reported poor crops. I've also online ordered for the free Vale E. potato order from DT Brown. Anyone's received theirs recently? Mine only ordered last Sat.

Maybe they were planning on making money on P&P money ! They say things like if it's too good to be true, it is too good......

If they can't honour the order, they could have the decency to refund the P&P.

How many tons of spuds do you want from 10 first early's, its the taste that matters, I would rather have one feed from a root of tasty new spuds than have to chomp my way through half a sack of bland wooly ones isnt this the reason we have allotments and grow our own veg

If they're that tasty, as many kilos as possible of course! . As for everyday eating bland potatoes, why bother growing at all if supermarket can sell them more cheaply. Yes for sure, we have allotments to GYO veg and those you can't have one, grow in our garden as I do.
