Default too late for broad beans?

title says it all really.
i've got a couple of sq metres more bed than I originally thought. not a lot in broad bean terms but I'd love to have even one good serving.

Is it too late to sow some & if not which varieties would be best?

Try a quick maturing type like "The Sutton" - should be OK.

I'd be tempted with a row of peas or some runners instead Jane. WHilst in theory there is time, the problem will be Blackfly on all those youngs shoots.

Wait a few months and sow some in October for an early crop next year
