  • Tomato Plants

I am having a masterclass in Tomato growing this year, I bought a brilliant selection of seeds off the net to choose a variety to go forward with.

I planted them ages ago & have harderned them off however the plants are only about 2-3 inch tall & dont seem to want to grow?

This is the third thread I've read about poor growth of plants outside. I think the explanation lies in the cold weather. I have only planted out broad beans and kohlrabi so far. Everything else is in the cold greenhouse. A good sign of when it's warming up is when the spuds start to show through.

My tomatoes in a greenhouse are OK.

      But I heat to a minimum 9C.

      Outside they would be dead.

Mine have been in our conservatory, a little sun and it gets quite warm! They are doing really well outdoors, I have put them in a grow bag in the bottom of a 4 tier polythene zip up. I've even got some flowers :-)

Got any pictures TDM? What size pots are they in, and where are they (indoors or out)?
