I have just started to harden off my sweetcorn plants yesterday (var Northern Britian) and went to put them back in the greenhouse last night, but the wind has falattened them and they now wont stand up of there own accord. Can I plant them deeper when they finally get put into the ground or will they have to be steaked?

All I do is stake them (kebab sticks if they're small) and after a while they repair themselves...

Could you not repot them and give them a few days to recover first? I would plant them 1/2 an inch deeper (I always seem to have to do this) and staking would be a good precaution too. Hope this helps.

I was reading up on sweetcorn just last night, and it said to plant them a bit deeper than originally as they develop adventious roots (extra ones up the stems) like tomates do.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

Watch when planting out though - did mine a couple of days ago thinking that this windy wild weather was over!? Rookie mistake.
