they will start to ripen when the sun comes out again,if you desparate to try pick 2 or 3,and put them on the window sill or in the fruit bowl, and see what way they ripen quickest,i am waiting for mine to turn colour.

Hang a ripe banana up near to your tomatoes, that will help ripen them quicker. Don't think much of the country will see much sun in the next 3/4 days.

The best taste comes from tomatoes left to ripen on the vine. That's why we grow them ourselves instead of getting them from the supermarket!! They will start ripening soon - are you feeding with tomato feed? They don't actually need sunshine to ripen, it will happen anyway when the fruit is mature enough. BTW I think the ripe banana trick only works with fruit that's been picked and is being kept indoors.

I'm eating the bananas first and putting the skins on top of the toms pots. No ripe ones yet though

Leave them - things take time. Learning patience is the hardest job in the garden.

It is early yet for homegrown toms, I know people have them but most don't yet. Bear with it, there's plenty of time, and if you have hundreds of green ones come September then there's always green tomato chutney (which I've still got a load of in the back of the cupboard now I think about it!)

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I have ONE TOMATO that's started to turn!
One of my (red) tumblers has turned yellow, won't be long now

I always put a grow bag of Sungold in green house to get a early start.

I've got some tomatoes, but none of the them remotely big enough to think about ripening :-(

I had one truss start turning at the end of last week, a second set started yesterday despite all this rain! And there was me thinking Toms needed sun and warmth to ripen!
