  • Purpe stains on potatoes

    just dug up some potatoes, a bit of purple dye in places, anyone know what this could be and whether they are still edible.

    i earthed them up, probably about 6 inches

    What variety are they? Some naturally have red on them. It could be normal for that plant.
    Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

          if they are kestrel...they do have purple eyes...just google them .......

              i got winston pots and they have red spots similar to those shown, it comes out when boiled.

                Kestrel are a 2nd early as far as I know (I bought them because of there slug resistance!) and my plants are no where near ready for harvesting yet!

                Interesting to know what they will look like though!

                  Definitely not charlotte but whatever they are it is a natural stain and just part of that variety of potato. They look a nice size.
