I've still got some early potatoes in the ground - which I will digging up tomorrow.

Not holding out much hope.

Pulling up the aubergine plants today, they were massive and produced a tone of fruit, but every fruit was filled with millions of seeds, even the baby ones. So unless i stuffed them and got rid of the middle, no good
Might not bother next year as 2 not so good years

Have cleared one kite of Toms, still got a kite to do but they are still fruiting.

Had the last of the runner beans for dinner today, they were OK, but... I picked the first savoy of the winter and that was fantastically sweet and tender.

That's unusual Lisa. What variety were they?

I wish mine were full of seeds, because that's what I planted them for, but with all the rain we had they mostly rotted on the plants.

I got some seeds from them last year, but they could have crossed with the three other varieties I grew. So this year I planted 18 of all the same variety, Szechuan from the Heritage Seed Library (it's very good, but no way I'd plant that many just for eating).

One plant was a bit of a rogue, it probably got crossed with something else, so I pulled it out before it could pollinate the others, but I was sure I'd have lots of pure seeds from the remaining 17 plants. But no!

I picked the last fruits from them yesterday, and there is one that might be mature enough and not too rotten to have seeds. And I checked the packet and I still have some seeds left for another try next year

And the old plants will be coming out very soon to make way for garlic.

Picked the last two Marketmore outdoor cucumbers today. Still crisp and sweet they went in a stir-fry with a splash of fish sauce.

, bought seedlings from the garden centre 20 for 2e.

I have bought seed to cheer my self up as i do love a aubergine, i am trying Long black, had to give it another try.

To be honest,I don't like to think of beginning and end of year.

Some of our allotment holders appear in spring and summer then disappear for autumn and winter.

I garden 365 days of the year and as one veg/fruit/flower finishes it is the start of something else!

Same with my crop rotaiton philosophy, not annual but ongoing!
