I may be wrong but isnt it chitting time now? Hopefully REAL yodas will be along soon

Do not put them in dark cupboard unless you want long white chit's leave them in the day light and chitting time has arrived they will not hurt in the light making sure that the rose end is upward's (where the eye's are) and good luck..

Shouldn't that be:

"arrived chitting time has"

I hope so because my second earlies are gracing the windowsill of the downstairs loo (no heating).

No need to chit maincrops but it doesn't do any harm. Leave them near a north facing window and you will soon have them in the ground.

I have had my 1st and 2nd earlies chitting away for some time
can i put them both outside on st.patrick's day (my planned planting day)

i've never been quite sure about when the different types go out

Yes you should plant them all at the same time if you can and they will mature at their own time naturally.

thanks tattieman, i've never really understood that.

my garden will be full of rubble sacks!

i had previously thought they were 1st and 2nd earlies because you stuck them in early and harvested them early - i didn't think about it referring to the whole growing cycle.

i saw somewhere else i think that you thought Winston was a good 1st early variety - it was my first choice but i couldn't end up finding it, so went for Epicure. do you know anything about that variety?
