  • Last years Charlotte potatoes

    Had a pleasant surprise today!
Had planted some Charlotte potatoes last August in 3 grow bags. They had grown massive really quickly in very warm, moist conditions over Autumn. All haulms had broken under their own weight and they looked dead.
I left them out and today emptied the compost and had a trug of lovely baby potatoes. They look and feel good, going to try them tomorrow with Sunday lunch ...

Charlottes are lovely - one of the varieties I would not be without (the other is Desiree). Just looking for a first early with a similarly good flavour and trying Lady Christl this year. Fingers crossed.
