  • It's official-I have overdone it!

    Just checked the seeds I have bought for next year, plus those I have so far recieved from seed swapping

    experimental and self saved :
    Butternut squash
    Blue salad potatos
    Exploding cukes
    Dragonfruit
    Quince
    Cumin

    Chillies:
    Jalepeno
    Scotch Bonnet
    Cherry Bomb

    Sweet Peppers:
    Chocolate
    Long Red
    Bell
    Small Orange

    Runner Beans ,scarlet emperor
    Broad Bean ,the sutton
    Dwarf french, tendergreen
    Pea , kelvedon wonder

    Radish, french breakfast & scarlet globe
    Rocket
    Mustard , red frills
    Carrots , autumn king 2 & Ideal
    Spring onion , white lisbon & Red beard
    Onion , Cipolla Rossa
    Fennel, Finocchio mantovano
    Chicory, Cicoria Rossa
    Cucumber, telegraph improved
    Parsnip, Lancer
    Broccoli, purple sprouting
    Sweetcorn, F1 jubilee
    Leek, musselburgh

    where the devil am I going to put it all??

    plus I am still looking for:
    Gherkin
    Watercress

    well it's certainly going to be an experiment in container growing next year.

    i would love to know how you get on with the quince seed experiment, i cant buy the tree here but if i could get some seed and try myself that would be great will have to speak to my mum and get her to save me some next year and post it out.
    i have grown kiwi from a shop bought fruit that was fun its great to experiment sometimes.

          Bride - I can do you a few Parisien Pickling Gherks - still got your address - so if you still have mine perhaps I will take a few quinces if still left?

            There are too many of us here to count and who would 'admit'? they've overdone it.....but the list can begin with the name Quark!

                i planted living watercress from sainsbury's in the pond and survived so that's possible

                    There's also this site which discusses growing dragon fruit.

                    apparently you can root water cress in water and then plant it on, go on have a go!

                        When I was younger we use to grow watercress in window boxes.

                        Very nice in cheese and marmite sandwiches LOL
