Can someone please tell me how often i should be watering my potatoes now the flower shoots have started to appear. They are in a potato barrell in my garage so not outside in the elements. Ive been putting the garage light on - on the days when its too wet outside for them. Thankyou. kind regards judith. p.s ive been watering once a week with tomato feed.

Potatoes need lots of water and feeding to bulk up.I would water them little and often rather than a big slodge of water. As long as you have plenty of drainage holes you should not be able to over water unless you are giving them a whole watering can at a time. -
Hi there tattie man, yes i have been giving them a full watering cans worth once a week. I s this ok or too much. Ive been incorporating the tomato feed with this watering. Thankyou. kind regards judith.Comment

Your probably giving them the correct amount but i would give thm half the watering can every 3 or 4 days so that the potatoes grow constantly and evenly rather than with a growth surge and splitting.
