They are both members of the Solanum family. Never had much joy with aubergines though

They may be the same family but aubergines and potatoes need rather different growing conditions. I can't see this working, but who am I to question T&M! Goodluck if anyone tries this, i can´t see it myself. Aubergines in the UK need greenhouse and i would love to know if anyone grows potatoes in the greenhouse.I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

I grow potatoes in the polytunnel, but tends to be for a christmas crop, so the wrong time for Aubergines.

I saw TomtatoŽ plants in a garden centre in Slovakia last spring, so I wonder how long it will take for these to arrive here. They would probably grow better in a Slovak garden than a British one, because our summers are hotter. But I don't think the "eggs and chips" joke will translate very well. Actually it's not a great joke in English either because eggplant is more of an American name, but chips in America are crisps.Comment
