  • Drowned Rat

I mean cat !!! twice today one of the cats has come in looking more like a drowned rat than a cat he just wont stay put, I have towel dried him but he is still very wet, he is an old cat, apart from locking the cat flap when I go out in a mo which I dont really want to do what else does anyone suggest. He has settled on his chair now so he might stay in for a while.

    Is he thick or what?
Might be best to just lock him indoors.

I've got one that's really thick too and will go out in the rain and get soaked...
I grab him when he comes in and give him a rather rough towelling - he's obviously got no feelings! Then he'll go upstairs to find some clean washing to sit on.

if he didn't like it, he wouldn't go out in it, 5 of mine are curled up in various heaps.
the boy is out in it as we speak, actually sitting on the garden bench!! mad or what?

Can you put up a sort of temporary shelter in the garden where he can see what's going on, but stays dry???
My recently departed Neo was a longhaired cat and loved hunting through the long wet grass and came in drenched, covered in seed heads. He'd never have stayed indoors ( raining or not) nor hidden under a shelter though!!!

Mine will be curled up in his bed. I don't need to be there to know it. He sleeps in HIS bed when I'm out and on MY bed or the nearest cat throne when I'm there. He'll look briefly outside and swear, before returning to the nearest bed. My cat doesn't do rain and his litter tray tells me it's been raining a LOT lately!!

Mine goes out, gets wet, comes in screaming, gets dried, goes out, gets wet .....

Now the government had decided that it's cruel if you don't keep your cat endlessly amused, he's evidently afraid it works both ways and he has to keep us happy and stimulated.
