  • Can I pick your brains?

Ive been sent some seeds from someone in america for the garden next door but for some reason there is some fruit and veg in there I thought Id try out anyways but the instructions on the back are different from the uk type, they are all in zones.

So I was wondering if you could tell me when and how to sow the following seeds

Corn, sweet. Golden cross bantam hybrid

    Jack o lantern pumpkin

    Sugar baby watermelon

    Black Beauty Egg Plant

    Thanks guys x

Next year!! Just ignore the zones and sow them according to UK dates - probably about April.

US zones are based on extreme minimum temperature averages.
          Zone 8a is -12.2 to -9.4,
          zone 9a is -6.8 to -3.9,
          zone 10a is -1.1 to +1.7,
so I should think most of the UK (apart from some of Scotland and some high places) pretty much slot in there somewhere.

          That's celsius BTW

Black beauty Aubergine, get that started in February. April/May for the others. IMO.
While wearing your night clothes, plant cucumbers on the 1st May before the sun comes up, and they will not be attacked by bugs.
