I have this area of garden that currently has a pond, I would like to get rid of the pond and have a vegetable plot. Looking at the picture can anyone suggest the best way of doing this for me? Raised beds, open plan etc

How much sun does it get? Most vegetables need an open sunny position. The pond will need filling in but I couldn't really work out which bit was the pond! I'd clear the area. Dig over throughly, paying attention to any perennial roots. Adding some organic matter will help . What are going hoping to grow? -
Sorry, the water was out of it when the picture was taken, its the area with the two large rocks and the otter in.
It gets a reasonable amount of sun, enough to have turned the water green in no time, hence wanting to get it removed.
I was hoping to grow some basics, Courgettes, Leeks, Tomatoes, Peppers, along those sort of lines. I wasn't sure if the best option would be after filling in the pond to have a wooden border around it like raised beds, or just have no designated boundary.Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lotComment

what size are you wanting it to be?
The pond looks like it is 4ftx 4ft / 5ft x5ft ???
you'll not get much in that but better than nothing!!

yep...old bricks, breezeblocks- anything like that.
You can make it pretty afterwards!
Have a look at images on goooogle - recycling raised beds or unusual raised beds.
you could build something very attractive if you are artistic/ can get yourself something interesting to recycle

Definately a raised bed, but why waste time and money removing all the gravel and digging anything? Just build the bed on top of it all, the gravel will make for good drainage.
