Default Anyone know anything about SCORZONERA?

We have been given a packet of seeds of this interesting looking veg - anyone know anything about it? Is it worth growing, does it taste nice etc etc

Yep- grew them last year and we are still taking them.
I think our soil was too rich as they forked much more than the carrots and have been fiddly to prepare with a lot wasted.
We grew them a few years ago on a different site and they weren't very successful.
So not much joy!!
They do have a delicate taste, and I have a few seeds left and will use them again this year, but unless wwe have a big success this year, I won't bother again.
Well worth a go though lavenderblue as they are lovely - you may have greener fingers than me !!

The secret of cooking them is to cook with their skins on and then remove once cooked!
