  • 1st time chillies

    Just bought some chillie plants Gusto Green, any advice on how to care for them?? Growing them in a greenhouse

    We're they from tesco??? As I was looking at three for £1.50 yesterday was going to pick them up until my wife stopped me :0 lol will be watching this thread and if there good will be going midnight shopping without the sensible one

            Just clicked the link seems there hardier than the usual chilli seems you can grow outside in the uk

                Lol tripmeup I'm not going to buy but will watch this thread I have managed to keep a good 20+ plants that seemed to wilt I could not put my finger on what was wrong until I found that the compost was mouldy around the roots I lost a fair few plants but the ones I saved I was a bit rough with trimmed all leaves that looked off changed the compost and washed the roots with Epsom salts seems a whole load have pulled through otherwise old gusto greens would have made a guest appearance

                  How are these chillies doing I need to go to tesco so if there are any and can seek some in our trolley I might have to buy some!!

                          Well my 3 chillie plants have produced a mass of super green chillies, how do you know when their ready and anyone got any good recepies

                              The link RL posted does say they'll mature from green to bright red so a bit more waiting 'til they're ripe!

                              You could try using them green, I usually find them too bitter until they're red though.
