  • Early strawberries in pots

Hi, some of my strawberries in pots in the tunnel are finishing up and I'm wondering what to do with them now. I don't want to put them outside in the pots as I'd have to keep watering them for the next few months. There's enough to do Would it be ok to plant them out and then dig them up in December, repot them and bring them in again? Would all that root disturbance harm them?
I have new runners on the go from some of them, again, would it be ok to plant them out and then pot them up in December to bring inside in January? Or is it best to keep them in pots from now?
    Thanks a lot

Wow finished already, I have yet to pick any.

Shouldn't think you would have a problem planting out and then re-potting in the autumn. After all thet is basically what the growers do when they send out bare root plants.
Sometimes you just have to scratch that itch and get dirt under your finger nails.

Sorry my email notifications never get through (problem on my side) so missed your reply. Thanks a million, that's a relief. Enough to do without running around watering lots of 2 litre pots
