I'd been thinking about getting an EarthBox or Octogrow system Octogrow but then came across numerous tutorials where people have built their own, from individual containers to whole systems compromising multiple containers fed from a single water tank.
Does anybody have experience with homebrew self-watering containers or any of the commercially supplied ones? It would be significantly cheaper, and fairly straightforward, to build several containers or even a system supplied by a single reservoir, so i'd much rather do it myself. Other than perhaps looking tidier, is there any advantage to an expensive Earthbox/Octogrow over a DIY-jobby?
I would be using these to grow vegetables.
