Default What did you eat today? (off your plot)

So what did you eat today that you grew yerself? I had: sprout tops, curly kale, black kale and purple sprouted broc, all steamed for dinner, plus winter lettuce (Rusty) and Mustard raw in my lunchtime sarnie. I'm craving Nasturtiums!

Oh, I forgot. Raw onion on toast (for my cold). We still have shallots and onions hanging from strings in the shed

...and very tasty it was too - although lamb formed the basis, rather that the garlic, obviously!

My chives are growing, so I had some of them in my sarnie today. And parsley (for the onion breath)

Now that you're growing your own, doesn't it HURT when you have to shell out cash for veggies? I had to buy a cabbage because mine got pigeoned.

You was ROBBED Two Sheds!....

We had Black Tuscan Kale and Leeks today. Tomorrow we're having Top of Sprout, which is now a Cabbage in it's own right, Pink Fir Apple Potatoes, Shallots, leftover Kale and Leeks, frozen Parsley and frozen Tarragon and frozen Mangetout.

But that went with/is going with bought chicken/bacon lardons, etc. that makes sense of the above !!

We had cabbage, leeks, carrots, tatties, roasted shallots and red onion marmalade with roast beef. Followed by a nice summer pudding with fruit from the freezer.

Sounds like 'nothing but the best' to me Piglets, and my goodness do you deserve it. THREE lotties now, and the incredible hard work that goes into it all.... I know that it's not just the sowing and growing, it's the harvesting, the researching the recipes as to what you're going to do with it 'for a change' and then actually DOING the diversity of recipes, and preparing it all for the freezer(s).....
Hey ! who'd have it any other way?! Man after my own heart....

And that's a nice Pear by the way.... if you'd convey that to Mrs. Piglette for me, I'm sure she'd be suitably appreciative of my admiration.....!

Beans on toast & a ham cob.
Had to rush my mother to hospital.
She fell & broke her wrist in two places ( end of Ulna & Radiaus) & dislocated two other smaller ones.
She needed operation to pin the bones & put others back in place.
