Default just tryed this and it works !

If you want a cherry pie but have no cherries -

Mix and cook equal parts blackberries and gooseberries together in a pan and strain the juice to remove pips and it tastes like cherries.

sweeten to taste

Argh! blackbirds have just stripped our small but perfect crop of gooseberries! Would have tried it otherwise. Have some whitecurrants to pick today - maybe they would work?

Interesting! I have 1000s of blackberries (literally, about a 100m stretch of bushes bordering my lottie) but I'm not all that keen on them. I'll give them a try with gooseberries
