  • Warning:Getting pecked in the eyball REALLY hurts!!

True, was happily putting a few onion sets in while the girls were ranging. One of them strolls over and pecked me right in the eye. You can imagine the language, but as I had both eyes shut I couldn't catch which one did it, it would have been dinner if I had.

Anyhoo, eye is still very painful 3 hours later, so am going to doc to have it checked. I just know he's gonna laugh.......I would if it was someone else!!

        Ouch....ouch...

Someone else a few weeks ago had their eye pecked too..who was it???
        Hope they're fine now.

You'll probably get antibiotic eyedrops...ooo..and a big black patch- or a big wodge of cotton wool held on with a huge piece of zinc tape ( after shaving your eyebrow to help it stick better)...nah ...sorry....couldn't resist the image though!

        Hope it's better soon.x

            Ouch hun!!
I got a peck on the lip the other day, healed up fairly quickly but eyes are another matter.
Hope you get on OK with the Doc.

Oooh ouch. Hope it's OK. Let us know how you get on at the docs.
The girls ate all my onions. Read somewhere not to give then onions. Well I didn't but they helped themselves anyway.

It IS funny. Doc put some stain in and had a look, says the peck caused some mild ulceration/scratch on the surface of eye. Prescribed some drops, wwhich he informs me will take a couple of days to feel the effect of. Bonus is, my pharmacist says drops cheaper to buy over counter than on script.

                      Ruddy bird......

We'll club together and send you some safety specs...they should include that in those 'how to keep chooks' books - wear specialist eye protection at all times!
