  • help with school chickens

Our school chickens are passing blood in their poo and we have found blood in their bedding and on their eggs.
Is this normal? What do we need to do?
Please help as brand new to this chicken lark.
    Thanks guys.

Sounds like coccidiosis. Could you google it? I know there's some stuff you can get (coccoid or something) to give them.

Edit - just checked - it's due to an internal parasite thingie - you might need to get the drug from a vet. Many are vacccinated against it as day-olds these days. Feed with the anti-coccidial medication, keep bedding clean and changed regularly, remove poo regularly from the run. Mainly good hygiene now - but they will need treatment. It's very debilitating it seems.

Good luck with them. Shame, after you were excited about them.
