I have some tomatoe plants and there indoors at the moment going outside during the day and the problem is that some of the plants have grown fairly well exept some of the stems have gone limp and the leaves have wiltered and died and some of the leaves have brown dots all over them which look see through and the rest of the plant look ok my question is are they dying or is it diease???? This is my second year growing tomatos and i never had this problem last time round so any advice would be a massive help and thanks in advance.

your plant look fine, the brown/beigy marks look like sun scorch, water on the leaves magnifes in the sun and it burnes,

You haven't watered in weeks or months? I'm surprised they're still alive! Give them a good feed with their watering

Oh.. and I assume they're fairly large now? Then I think you water too often and drowning them. I give mine a good soak once a week, but that's it.

My first thought before I even opened your post: you're overwatering

Looks like 'scald' to me. If they are in direct strong sunlight when the plants are young you don't need water on the leaves for this to happen. It is something to do with the liquid within the leaf itself over heating.

Confirming what Potty said...my young, indoor grown chillies and sweet peppers all suffered from scorch, despite the leaves never getting wet.

It hasn't affected their growth though.

Anything non-peat as a rule. I got a big bag of B&Qs own a couple of weeks ago and it's really good stuff.

                              Now that will inhibit growth

                              +1 for scorch
