  • potato plants

I have 4 potato plants growing happily in containers. They are now quite bushy plants but yesterday when I looked at them it looks like something has crashed through them! there are broken stalks and leaves hanging down. Will this harm my plants and stop potato production,Should I tidy them up or should I just leave them and hope for the best?
Everything else seems ok, peas, beans, beetroot, courgettes.

Check the main stems (the thickest ones) - if they are ok, you'll be fine. Potato foliage is quite susceptible to damage when grown in pots - I lose a lot of leaves from human, animal and weather intervention!

Take off any broken leaves and put them to good use on the compost heap!
