I knew it would happen - first asparagus spears came through today! Pop bottle cloches in place - just hope they don't blow away. Good luck everyone!

my cauli seedlings and brocolli and some flower seedlings all with 3rd set of leaves have been outside for 2 weeks... do I need to cover them?

Over night frost

Could be as much as minus 6 especialy near the west coast Glasgow or Oban. However the further South you are the better. Midlands southward it may just hit freezing or minus1. Looking forward to the middle of the week when we can start enjoying a lot warmer conditions. Nice big Anticyclone building. Plus 16 or even plus 17 celcius during the day.

They should be OK but what flowers are they ..

Probably it's better to bring them in-they'll be better inside the house on the floor than outside.I let the dog out about 6:30-I was standing outside and could see the steam coming out of my mouth.

Its supposed to be -1 here but with widespread frost. As I have no room to empty my 3 mini placcie greenhouses, I have put a blanket over the top of all of them, I hope this will help, otherwise I'm gonna be sowing again

I think everybody is billed for minus something tonight. Seedlings in unheated greenhouses should be well covered with fleece. If you don't have any newspaper will do.
I've lifted my potatoes in buckets into the shed and covered them with fleece.
I've stuffed my cold frames with fleece.
Everything else is in the heated conservatory.
The good news is the weather will be much warmer next week.

Okay I've just been outside in my jammies armed with torch, bubblewrap and fleece to cover my spud bags, god know what the neighbours thought

My toms and peppers are out in the growhouse of a day time, and then tucked up under fleace in the potting shed every night. It only takes five mins each morn an eve to move them about .
Better to be safe than sorry untill the frosts have past.
