  • Bonfire Night?

Anyone doing anything tonight/ this weekend ?

i always make a hotpot tonight and I've got a few sparklers ( tiny cake ones) to wave In front of our fire pit

we normally have a firework and bonfire party for local Brits but we're too busy this year.
funny how no-one has stepped up and offered to do something similar chez them !

    what's everyone else got planned?

Nothing here although our town and nearest city had their celebrations last night...I have no idea why. It's meant to be raining anyway so don't imagine there will be much going on here at all.

      Willing horse syndrome Nicos.

We are long past fireworks parties. Fireworks being let off here this last month and that constant disturbance takes away the sparkle of it all.

      Enjoy the hotpot

I used to love going to bonfire night. Have a big pan of tomato soup on and jackets pots with chilli. wrap up warm and get soaking wet
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

Once was on a plane on the 5th, we flew at 6pm or similar. It was from luton i think. I have never seen anything so awesome and strange than looking down and the skies was full of lights. It was magical. so many different colours and sizes. I cannot even describe it.

Nothing planned here. I have 4 dogs to think about it. The pups are still adjusting to loud bangs so I'm not sure how they'll react tonight if the neighbours have a party.
I can watch all the fireworks down over the city from the bedroom. That's as close as I want to be.

The local display is always at the school on the other side of the railway line. So from upstairs I get a fantastic view, without the cold or wet. It'll be tomorrow or Saturday, rather than tonight.

Mollycat doesn't go out much (never at night!) so I don't have to worry about her - she'll just hide under the bed, if they get too loud. Bless!

We have ours at the allotment tomorrow night. Am really looking forward to it - a BIG bonfire we'll build tomorrow afternoon and fireworks we bring, plus the local display just over the trees.

We don't really do anything. My two don't like loud noises so going to a firework display would be a waste of time. They did sit on the end of Wills bed watching the ones in the distance at the weekend. But if they were interested we would do something.
I'm personally not a big fan of fireworks. Think they are sale too early and they are let off well after bonfire night.

we'll be doing nothing, I hate fireworks as do the dogs, about the only thing I shall do is turn the TV up so I don't hear them! We've already had the little darlings letting them off in bins nearly gave me a heart attack! Police came out but they scarpered little s***s

I'm not a big fan of fireworks so going to the local pub where I can hide inside for the firework bit! Also forecast rain so might not be much going on at all...

Got to be pie and peas on bonfire night though!! And Parkin! Or is that just a yorkshire thing?!

Bonfire night isn't acknowledged in Ireland, I don't miss it. Growing up in Surrey we used to have a huge bonfire in the garden, loads of fireworks and virtually no worries about safety, that was a long time ago though!
