  • Hello! from St Helens

I'm keen to grow my own fruit and veg but at present, I'm growing them in pots in the yard, being new at this it's all trial and error. I'm looking forward to harvesting my potatoes . . . I'm not optimistic at present, I plan to get my own allotment asap.

Hello J and a very warm welcome to the Vine. Lots of us on here grow in pots as well as in our gardens and allotments - it's a mixed bunch and a very friendly one.

Hello JW and a big welcome from me too. As Flo says ^^^^^ we're a very mixed bunch, and a lot nicer than garage flowers!

          Hi J

I have been growing mainly in pots in the garden for a couple of years now, but hopefully I will have an allotment next weekend.

It's all a bit of a steep learning curve, but the folks on here are great.

Just remember, there is no such thing as a silly question if something is bothering you.

Thanks for the welcome, It's good to hear others use pots,at least I can choose what type of soil I have, it has it's benefits.

Hi J! We are a friendly but slightly derranged bunch round here, good for advice and nonsense!

Enjoy your gardening, and here's hoping the allotment comes through soon.
