Linaria [botanical name] Toad Flax [common name]

The members of this genus are known in English as toadflax, a name shared with several related genera. The scientific name means "resembling Linum" (flax), which the foliage of some species superficially resembles.

Linaria is a genus of about 100 species of herbaceous annuals and perennials that was traditionally placed in the foxglove family Scrophulariaceae. Due to new genetic research, it has now been placed in the vastly expanded family Plantaginaceae. The genus is native to temperate regions of Europe, northern Africa and Asia, with the highest species diversity in the Mediterranean region.

trailing fruschia is correct but it is just one wall basket not two

I thought it was toad lily. Toad flax is a smaller wild flower. I read a book once. It was green!

I used to think it was toad lily too - but my new books and teacher and the nursery I bought it from says flax ....how darn confusing is that!

And talking of confusing, the Kaffir lily (common name) has two botanical names - both of which are in different families

That's the thing about botany. They wait till everyone knows all the names then change them!

It reminds me of when decimal currency came in. One old dear said, "They ought to wait till all the old people die before they change the money!"

Toadflax is like snapdragon - Linaria as described above.

Tricyrtis is what is in the photo...which is Toad Lily.

Teachers do get it wrong sometimes!!! You were right it seems.
