Last night I was washing my hands in the bathroom when I dropped the soap, being a round soap it fitted perfectly in the plughole. I couldn't get it out and eventually had to run downstairs and grab a spoon to try and remove it, that didn't work either. Panicking now I was about to raid OH's tool-box, when OH himself arrived home. The bathroom was starting to flood by this point. Fortunately OH, being a highly educated engineering type, quickly assessed the situation, leaned over and turned the tap off. I feel such a fool.
Glad to hear you didn't have any damage, Jackie.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

ailsasyl, I went out for a whole day a couple of months ago and when I got back couldn't find my keys. Found them in the door. Whoopsie! Lucky I use the back door, eh?

phew that was lucky, i've done the same many times, i went out with chops under the grill once, came back and wondered why the house was full of smoke, they were smouldering away nicely.

I've lost count of the amount of times i've left the back door open when i've gone out, or left my keys in the front door or even left all the windows open. Thankfully i live in a nosey neighbourhood, with a virtually zero crime rate Grabs some wood) one day i may not be so lucky.

A good few years ago now a friend of mine came home late after having a few to many. He was glad to see that his mother had left him some beef burgers out on the kitchen worktop and decided to grill them for his supper. After a little while he checked on his burgers and was dissapointed to see that they had turned into a disgusting gooey mess in the grill pan. He decided to leave them and went to bed. When he came into the kitchen the next morning he looked at the grill pan and realised that he had been trying to grill a couple of Wagon Wheels.

Just realised, I'm not sure if they still make Wagon Wheels. If anyone can't remember them, they were a biscuit sandwich of marshmallow covered in chocolate.
It is the doom of man, that they forget.

Mum put spiced pickling vinegar in big coke bottle Bruv took a big swig and swallowed

How many times had she told him "don't drink from the bottle, use a glass" - He never drank out of mums bottles again!

                he he he!

I've burnt more pans than Soft Mick (who was he, by the way) and am heartily glad that I've never spent more than a quid or two at car boot sales for them!!

Actually it sounds very reminiscent of choccie fondue. I'm with you, Lynda. This needs to be tried (and I'll be looking out for it on CDWM!!). Not on toast, though. Chocolate and bread is WRONG!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does daft things. When my eldest son was a few weeks old we put the wheels of the pram in the car boot got in the car and drove off got to the end of the road and realised neither of us had put the pram top in but had left it indoors. Ok nothing wrong there except pram top contained baby !!!
