My neighbour has...German thing, ultra efficient burn, expensive to buy and install, huge hopper and the pellets come on a lorry so work out a bit expensive. I live with an antique oil boiler(no, not Mrs P) (oil price nearly tripled since we moved here.) a woodburner and fire. I really wanted a pellet burner but with what I found. I couldn't do the sums- even if i got a pelleter for the work shop. Would be very interested in any prices you find in your research if you do better. I am definately still interested.

Electric seems the best option. although generate your own is a large initial investment also worth considering.

We are considering one of these too.....
The other option for us would be a wood burning stove with a back boiler - there are some huge ones around that will serve 14-16 rads. My main concern is the price and storage of the pellets??? There are also wood burning boilers around with hoppers which take logs instead of pellets. Desicions desicions!!
I will be interested to hear your results too.
