  • Seed disaster

I'm so cross My seed boxes normally live on a high shelf but I was looking though one of them lastnight and left it on my desk. This morning was the usual rush getting the big three ready for school, so it took me a little while to register how quiet my two year old was being. The little monkey was sitting with the box on his lap, cheerfully ripping open seed packets and tipping the contents onto the floor. He'd got through about 25 packets, including all my HSL stuff and most of my peas. I've swept up and bagged what I could but quite a lot of the small ones seem to have gone down the cracks in the floorboards. It's going to be a total pain trying to separate them and identify what's what (might not be able to tell the peas apart at all).

I can usually see the funny/cheeky side of it when my kids play up (not that I let them know!) but not this time

    Moan, moan, grumble...
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Oh gawwwd Seahorse - that is really not funny, well - it is - but not yet, not for a long while.

I'm pretty sure I have some HSL purple podded peas left, will check - let me know if you need any

Oh okay, only kidding! C'mon then you've got the empty pkts, what replacements do you need?

Or have you started buying more seeds already......

Lol! You're all very kind. I shouldn't moan too much really. It's not as if I have room for all the seeds I have as it is. It would be great of anyone could tell me what the following are supposed to look like though:

              Carlin Pea
              Victorian Purple Podded Pea
              Cherokee Trail of Tears Bean
              Hutterite Soup Bean

I don't mind planting most of them out as 'see what you get' but I'd like to try and i.d. the above, as they're my HSL ones.

Oh dear Seahorse, what a nightmare.
I may be able to help with the Hutterite Soup bean ID - I think they are a solid creamy yellow beige colour from memory. I could possibly send you a couple if you need them - just PM me and I'll see if I've any left.

If you water the floor (perhaps next week's mischievous child adventure) you will get things growing from the floorboards!

Ta! I'm sorted on the Hutterites and Cherokees then. Are those Carlin peas wrinkly? I can't tell from the pic
