  • Flooded again

In true Victor Meldrew style "I DON'T BELEIVE IT!!!"

My Bl00dy allotment has flooded again. I guess this serves me right for saying "storm, what storm?" last week. Looks like the prolonged downpour we had over the weekend is the reason and the ground must be so saturated the water has been run off into the nearby streams. I've not been to have a look myslef but eye witness reports say over 1 foot of water.

Oh well there goes the easter spud planting plans. Fingers crossed for an April like last year to dry it all out. At least all my seedlings are safe at home in my greehouse. Nothing planted so nothing to lose. Take my advice - never get an allotment next to a stream!

Oh well make the most of what you have - anybody know how to grow rice?

Oh dear ouch sorry to hear about your lottie.

    This'll make you laugh.
I went to my friends lottie delivering some manure doing my good turn for her mum on Sunday, and my new car got stuck in the mud we had to get some old carpet out of the dump there and push the car it was hilarious 2 girls struggling to get a car out of the mud for about 20 mins! We were knee deep

      Bummer Matt
      Foot high raised beds?!
Are there any plans by the Environment Agency or the local council to do something about it? Could you dig your own drainage ditches at the end of your plot to help it drain?
I really hope you get it dried out enough to grow some stuff.

The horses field at the bottom of my lottie was like a lake yesterday including ducks and swans. It's pretty much gone today. Luckily it didn't reach the lotties but they're still pretty soggy!
Imagination is everything, it is a preview of what is to become.
