    Allotment Parties

    On our allotment site we have a summer solstice party every June. It's great fun, and a good chance to meet all the other plot holders.

    We want to add more events to the calendar - does anyone have any ideas for allotment occasions? And is there anything we should avoid?!!!

    Well, I'm probly not the person to ask - we're lucky on our site if anyone turns up for the AGM, never mind owt else..!
    However, I was thinking that a seed-swap event might be a nice thing to (try...) organise at this time of year, get everyone thinking about the new season

        I'd love to have a seed swap - it would make me feel less guilty for hoarding the remnants of the last five years' seed orders...

        On my plot all the old boys keep a four pack of beer in their water butts - they don't need much of an excuse to party!

          I have a veritable shop in my shed... two shelves of fizzy pop, crisps, cereal, breakfast bars, fruit juice, chocolate soya milk and the occasional lager ..

            I love the idea of a seed swap -- I seem to lose all sense of proportion when I see packets of seeds and every year I buy too many and then tell myself I'll be better next time. It still hasn't happened tho...

            A bonfire party would be great too - lots of our neighbours on my lottie have kids.

            Sounds like we should have the party at yours tho Two Sheds!!!

              I'd stick to wood though... or their parents might get upset.

                            I'm thinking not - can't you tell I've just moved out of London having been there for nearly four years if I'd moved straight up from Cornwall it would not have even occured to me that there may be one
