  • Newbie Lincolnshire Lass

    Hello fellow gardeners,
I am a newbie with a new garden to boot a long stretch of lawn and a limited budget.
All after the season is over so i have the long winter months to design and ponder the catalogues I am going to take pictures so we can all ponder the garden and any comments will be received with an open mind infact i have a front garden a back and a long stretch of lawn across the way to be precise, so when i am not pottering around i am looking for inspiration in my local town, which seems to be alive with colour and beautiful gardens not the mention the Britain in bloom campaign which seems to bloom alot around here. I hope i can do the area a justice and not an eyesore.
Well i hope to be back soon off to take piccies and i have already ordered my catalogues and i am waiting in anticipation.

Hello and welcome to the Vine, will you be giving any of your garden over to growing vegetables? Sounds like you have big plans for floral displays.

Hello MissWinters and a very warm Yorkshire welcome from Jinny Cat & Me. If your wanting to grow veg over the winter months you could plant broccoli, cabbages and kale. Also onion and garlic, you could even sow some broad beans for an early spring crop. Most herbs are winter hardy and some even make a lovely flowering display.
