  • hi from yorkshire

Hi everyone from a newbie to gardening.
We have just bought a house and at last i have a garden, albeit a small one. Ive planted some plants in pots and bought myself a blow away, one of those walk in ones and raised some tomato, cucumber, spring onion, lettuce radish all from seeds i bought and now started planting them out in a raised bed my other half has made me.
We have even been walking in the countryside and picked up some lovely stones and bricks and hes made me a small waterfall. He is now in the process of making me a larger more sturdy greenhouse. It is sheer bliss and now i see what Ive been missing all these years.
I am now so engrossed and just want more and this is how i found you guys. What a brilliant site. I now have something to do on rainy days.

Welcome Arowana. Never mind rainy days - you'll soon be logging in daily like the rest of us.

Could you add your location (nearest town) to your profile please, then it will show on your posts and we won't have to keep asking you where you are.

Hello arowana, welcome to the Vine

Gardening is truly addictive .. in a good way. I've learnt so much from hanging around here.

In our garden, I do the digging and planting and my OH does the building of things and the harvesting

Hi and welcome arowana, from a Yorkshire lass in Scotland
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
