    Hello from a complete novice

    Hi Folks
    My name is Shaun and a complete novice when it comes gardening and growing your own.

    A family member bought me some chilli and tomato kits last year to help keep me amused while recovering from a serious illness. The kits were not very successful but I caught the growing bug and ended up with a few raised beds and a handful home grown veg.

    This year I hope have some more raised beds and possibly add a greenhouse.
    Been looking around the forum for a while and thought I would sign up and try take things a bit more seriously and hopefully not ask too many silly questions.

                    Morning Shaun, welcome to the vine.
                    Growing your own is addictive, isn't it?
                    When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
                    If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

                              Growing your own is very addictive, I started a patch at our local allotments a few years ago and find myself so bored over most of the winter months when there isn't much to do.
                              Don't worry about asking questions even if they are silly ones.
