  • Hello from another novice gardener :)

    Hi,
I have recently become a novice gardener after acquiring a large garden after a house move. I can honestly say that I am loving every minute of it. I'm making the garden prodominantly for wildlife.

Looking forward to getting to know folk

Hello Tulip and welcome to the Grapevine I welcome most wildlife into my garden - with the exception of slugs and snails - they can go and live next door

Hello and welcome. Addictive, isn't it?
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

I'm finding this new hobby very addictive. I have spent more time watching my garden than the Telly lately!

I currently have a lot of containers with an assortment of young seedlings in, a beautiful azalea which I potted yesterday and there is an area of woodland to the back of the garden which I'm just letting it do its own thing. It's currently sprouting forget me nots all over the woody area. Yesterday I discovered that we have an apple tree so a host of things really. Tbh I'm finding it a bit overwhelming with my lack of knowledge in this field.

The wild birds are v entertaining to watch today. They are currently having a bath in my pond. It's only a week old.
