  • Belated Greetings to you all from Sunny South Wales

Hello Everyone. Please excuse my rudeness for not introducing myself before now. Five years a member of the Forum and not a single word about who I am - Sorry!
During the last 5 years I've acquired a 2nd garden about 75 miles away from my main garden and spend about a week at each one in turn. Whatever I grow has to be able to fend for itself without constant supervision. With a greenhouse in both gardens I have been known to pack my baby seedlings and take them for rides in the car. The last of my chickens also used to make the journey, sometimes laying an egg en route! Sadly she has made her final journey to the seaside.
I'm trying very hard to grow as much fruit and veg as I can, in both gardens, in an attempt to be self sufficient and stay away from the shops. I have a lot of learning to do though before that day comes. I've picked up lots of useful tips on this Forum but have only lurked until now. Thanks for your help.

Hi Taff, You make me feel like a slug or snail that has crept out of hiding after dark to be met by a host of forumites with torches and buckets of slug pellets!! Only joking - honest!!! I promise not to creep back under my stone.
      Thanks for your welcome.
Are you from my part of the world too?

I am, but further in, from the valleys
don't worry, not like a slug or snail, otherwise there'd be plenty of salt or in some cases, a scissors to cut it in half....ewwww...more like a recalcitrant mole...

A Mole! Eh??? Small and velvety - and very short sighted. Just like me - apart from the velvety bit!! I like moles - but not in the lawn. Look at the time - no wonder I've made an appearance after dark. Go to go now - lots of tunneling to do. Nos da!!

Welcome to the vine VC - and about time too - I didn't think there were many grapes from South Wales. There could be more lurking around Sounds as if you are being kept busy travelling back and forth between the two gardens. Well done. Don't go back into hiding, now!
