              Just made a batch of the Piccalilli, although I reduced the amount by 1/3.

              Prepped and then set the veg (Cauliflower, onions and Carrots - bought; and courgette, cucumber, french and runner beans from the garden) to soak in brine last night.

              This morning I used the 'Spiced Vinegar' recipe, also in the book, to prepare the vinegar (well I already had the spices and a bottle of distilled vinegar suitable for pickling was only 55p).

              This evening, I finished the process off and now have 5 jars of piccalilli sitting on the side cooling down and to give you an idea as to how much that actually is, its:
              3 x Colemans sauce jars (the small square ones with mint, apple, tartare etc);
              1x Robinsons Mincemeat/jam jar; and
              1 that's probably the same volume as the Coleman jars but taller and thinner.

              Now just got to wait a month or two to see what it tastes like .

                        I think they would look for a copy or two in the office, rather than a print re-run.

                        There will be another along [possibly] next year....

                            Hi everyone,

                            Thanks for your interest in the jams booklet from our August issue. We don't seem to have any spare copies in my section of the office, but I'll have a word with our subscriptions team and let you know if they have any available to order.
