I use that too and find it great. I also have "The WI Complete Book of Preserves". Thats got some good stuff but somehow seems aa little bit old fashioned. Still a good book to go back to though.

Mcbee, I have a great little book at home but I cant remember the name of it.
I had a scoot through Amazon this morning but couldnt see it.
When I get home I will find it and send you the title. I find it really useful, also tells you how to deal with gluts of many different fruit and veg.

The best one I have is The Basic Basics Jams, Preserves and Chutneys by Marguerite Patten which is absolutley suberb. I've got the WI one as well which is pretty good but nowhere near as comprehensive as the Marguerite Patten one which covers all sorts of preserving as well as jams etc.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Me too, I've got the book by Marguerite Patten, its a great book and I would totally recommend it.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Sally,IMO you would struggle to beat "Jams, Preserves and Edible Gifts" by Sara Paston-Williams published by the National Trust.
Really good tried and tested recipes.

I bought a book from Lakeland called 'Preserves and Pickles' which is really good value at £4.99. They also sell the W.I. Book of Preserves for £14.99.
