I went to a lovely PYO farm near Kirkby Lonsdale last year - I'd only just planted lots of my fruit so only got enough from it for a few nice desserts, nowhere near enough to do all my jam making with. It was a really nice afternoon out and the farmer was incredibly grateful for the custom - all that rain we had meant loads of his fruit had just rotted in the field

So go for it Teamladd - have a nice day out, support the local farmer, and end up with cheaper, fresher fruit than you get at the supermarket.

Try your local supermarket late at night, we had strawberries reduced last night to 49p for 454grms reduced further to 10p YES 10p some one picked up 22 punnets for jam making yet they didnt get the sugar. It was bedlem when it was announced over the tanoy, people were running and pushing people out of the way. I said mine are even cheaper I grow my own lol.
