Default Hose Pipe seals leak

I have a hosepipe with many attachements.
Over the years the seals have perished.
I found some replacements on ebay.co.uk
Search for "O Rings hozelock"

I replaced them and tested the hosepipe last night by switching on the tap and checking for leaks, there were none. I switched off the tap.
This morning I needed the watering can so I uncoupled the hose from the tap.
The seals were that good that the considerable pressure in the hose was still there and it spurted quite forceably out and drenched me.
Still at least the hose is now fixed.

One tip for hoses is to get an adapator with 3 ways. I then run one hose to the front garden and one to the back. On the end of each I have a "seal when disconnected" connector. So I just plug in the spray head where I need it. With a bit of practise you don't get wet.

Hope this is of use

Thanks Jimmy, I've been looking for those O-ring seals. What I have had to do in the past is buy the three-way conectors you mention (cheapo. not hoselock) and remove the seals from those to use on other bits of kit.
