  • Young gardeners

Hi, just a thought but wondered if there are any gardeners from around my age (30) out there.

As much as it's great and invaluable to tap into the vast experience and advice of older members wondered if it might be a good idea to form a young gardeners group on here.

Obviously after a certain number of years people would move on!

As I say it's just a thought - or maybe something similar has been posted elsewhere. If that's the case perhaps someone could point me in the right direction.

    Thanks!

I'm not sure age has anything to do with it, more experience I would think. I'm over 50 & would imagine you know more than me. I'm not very good but enjoy the hobby.

I think one of the best things about the Vine is the mix of people we have on here.

What do you mean by a young gardeners group? As in a group on the forum (offical group like)?

I'm a bit younger than you... spend most of my time here asking questions and 99% of the replies are from people who are older than me

How about different forums for the under 20's,under 30's,40's,50's,60's and so on?

Nah........................can't see that age has any relevance in GYO?

I have many young gardeners in my circle - but I'm afraid they would think 30s is ancient!

Youngest - now 4 and 7 [nieces] and I have 8-15 yr olds at schools, and there are loads of teenagers who garden on here.....

What would you want from a young gardeners' group? And you can start one on the community social groups page if you want to.....

Well, I'm 41 and dunno if that's "old" or "young" ... Depends on the day I've had I suppose! But I like the fact The Vine is so varied in age. I really like mixing with all age groups, there's loads to learn from everyone, so an age-specific group would not really appeal to me personally?

Old is a state of mind. I'm mature (although some people on here would say that I'm not, I'm immature) but there's a good mixture on the Vine and we all share experiences regardless of age.
