  • You can always depend on the kindness of strangers

Ok so Im in Somerfield this morning and happen to mention to the woman behind the counter that i missed the free flower/veg seeds offer as i hadnt been near town. She told me to wait a minute...then came back with 18 different packets that hadnt been claimed and gave me them for FREE!

Then I put an add on freecycle asking for any gardening supplies for my lottie and have just been at someones house emptying out the contents of his aunts shed!

I have loads of seed trays now (more than id ever need) if anyone wants some? There were pots, tables, rakes and buckets of chicken pellets...
..and i could take the lot! For FREE!!
Theres also a load of timber that i've to pick up at the weekend.

Seems you can always depend on the kindness of strangers!!

Brilliant Victoria. There'll be no stopping you now.
And yes, most people are good and will put themselves out for strangers.
A few years ago my husband became ill when we were on holiday in Cornwall. A taxi driver and a travelling salesman really put themselves out to help me. I haven't forgotten their kindness.

                        Well done you!

I gave up on Freecycle - our local one is very 'clicky' - that and I got fed up with the million emails a week. It's good to hear someone getting a bargain. Not quite as good as another Grape getting a Rayburn (or was it an Aga?) a few months ago! But well done anyway!

The computer from which I type came free from London Gumtree. My son's infant school had just been done over and all the IT stuff nicked and my own packed up as well just as I had lost my job.

I simply said what had happened and that I would be grateful for any old piece of junk so long as it worked. The very very nice man who replied said he was sick of students moaning that they didn't have the latest thing and would only accept laptops!

I got given a then state of the art computer (to me) with all peripheries and enough computer 'sound' equipment to stage my own outdoor concert! He had just recently updated his system.
