  • would you please SLOW down!!

when leaving me a voicemail - slow down, talk clearly, saying your name and number in an audible manner to at least give me a fighting chance to call you back

or if you must rush through and speak like you are on - erm, something - then do ensure that you call from the same phone that you have just given me the number for - not one that shows on my call list as 'withheld' 'unavailable' 'any other number'

Nice day innit - you should see the size of my Achocha

Imagine the problem when the message is in French

When we were looking for a house here, our (French) estate agent left us a message and we had to replay it at least 10 times just to get the number - and I am not exaggerating.

I heard that about your Achochas

OMG I totally agree, I hate it when someone leaves you a very looong labourious voicemail that nearly sends you to sleep, and then they dash through their phone number at a rate of knots and you have to listen to the whole darn thing (boring bits and all) umpteen times just to get their number!!

I have turned off VM on my phone and works phone.

On work phone it phones you repeatedly til you retreive the message.

On personal phone it takes 20 key strokes and numerious enrties to get to the message....I hate the "you have 2 new messages....would you liketo hear your messages".....no I just dug the phone out of my day sac..took it out the case and phoned 121 just for the 'king sake of it.

Ditto all the above NOG. I HATE answerphones/voicemail etc for all the above reasons, also don't like having to pay to retrieve messages I didn't want in the first place!

My voicemail would cut in too early (and I couldn't change it), so I was missing calls and having to call back at my expense GRRRRR!

I dont listen to voice mail, dont want to pay to do it, friends and family know I wont get a message if they use this. The answer phone is in desperate need of replacing most of the time its guess work so now if I am waiting for some one to call back I tell them dont leave a message. That way I get to talk to a real person. Its great for cold calls cos I dont get them lol

the answer machine is something of a lifeline when you are self-employed and I've never paid to listen to messages on either that or my mobile vm - didn't know people had to do that?
