The Witchery by the Castle, Edinburgh Hello all,
Anyone been to this place for a meal or know someone who has? We are thinking of going during our weekend in Edinburgh in 2 weeks time. Have booked a table for lunch but just read some reviews, not sure what to make. Hope you can help. Here is the website:

Would appreciate your comments.
Thanks

Forgot to add, we are looking to order from the main menu, not any of the offers they have which seem to get the poorest reviews. I like to think that you can't go into a place like that and expect it for nothing. Really would appreciate your thoughts. Funny how I tend to come on here when I'm not sure isn't it, because I trust you all, that's why!

Take your Platinum card and you'll have a meal to remember. I've only been once - about four years ago (can't afford it anymore !
)
It is quite simply , outstanding food, beatifully cooked and beautifully presented. If you do decide to go, you are guaranteed a meal to remember.Rat

A friend of mine took some clients there a while back and gave it the big thumbs up.

hi - I used to live in Edin, but never managed to go to the Witchery unfortunately - but it's a fabulous place and great location too. From memory, I think you can get a tour of the old Edinburgh, it's underground - Edinburgh used to get built on after a plague!!, and I think the Witchery Restaurant may have some involvement in organising this - I could be wrong but a visit to the underground may be quite fun! Although it may be a bit gruesome after lunch though
Edinburgh is a fantastic place, have a great time!
