  • Wimbledon final / the Queen.

    Well done Andy.
A thrilling final and what a sportsman. He had the nation captivated, by his skill and his emotion.
It would have been a boost to him and the country as a whole if the Queen was present at such an important sportin event.
Another chance missed to show that the monarchy is relevant?.

Looks to me like this thread is another opportunity for a 'debate' with potential for argument over the Andy Murray = British or Scottish, and whether the Queen/monarchy has any useful purpose. You seem to be quite fond of starting threads with the potential for controversy Simon....

This one will be closed with no further warning should it show any signs of becoming 'heated'.

    As you were.

The 'honour' of being there looks like it was delegated to Will & Kate and he had search and rescue duties, so Kate took her sister.
At the Queen's age I think she is entitled to pick and choose what she does, I do and I'm 20 years younger than her

Perhaps like me, she had other things to do?

I did not consider Scottish/English situations at all, and have never posted anything concerning it. I am sorry if you consider it controversial.
I know the mods do a wonderful job, but, when you feel you cannot post anything for fear of being made to feel uncomfortable or upsetting THEM well its a shame.

It's not about fear of upsetting Mods. But if you post controversial threads on purpose to upset people - what do you except. We are just the face of the upset that can be caused.

I'm not a royalist, I couldn't be further from a royalist. But we've seen and heard it all before. And can see the signs. So perhaps if you want to post about a hot/controversial topic, go to a forum that is relevant to that topic?
